"Some South Carolina Genealogical Records" by Janie Revill, 1986, Southern Historical Press, page 105
The abstract describes litigation between Robert D. Montgomery and Archibald Hagood and wife as one party and Turner Starke, the younger, for Sarah, the widow of Turner Starke, the elder, Douglas, a minor child of Turner Starke, and Caroline, a granddaughter. At this time, circa 1824, the tract of land, originally granted as 1000 acres to Moses Duke, has been re-surveyed as 1206 acres with half belonging to Robert Montgomery, who bought his half from Moses Duke, and half belonging to the heirs of Turner Starke, the elder. Starke's children are listed as Philemon, Lewis, Turner, Douglas, Elizabeth, Nancy, and Jane. Elizabeth was Archibald Hagood's wife. Data is from Richland District, SC Probate.
