"In the name of God Amen
I John Abbott of south Carolina Kershaw District

Being infirm in helth--but perfect in my sences Thanks be to God for it--do make This my Last will & Testament--as follows

first I give my soul to God who give it me & my Body to be buried in a Christian manner according to the Discretion of my Executors hereafter mentioned and for such worldly Goods as it hath pleased God to Bless me with I will & Bequeath as follows

Item. I Desire my wife Elizabeth abbott to have Reasonable maintenance out of my property as Long as She liveth

Item. I give unto Moses Duke my sisters son the whole of my property--my negro Hammet & my Lands & my Gold & silver & my flocks & herds & all that is owing to me the whole of my Goods & Chattels personal & Real property Except a maintenance for my wife while she Lives

I appoint Alexander Stewart & Samuel Perry & James Cain Executors to this my Last will and testament

In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and seal this fifteenth Day of July thousand Eight Hundred & two

Personally came Samuel Wells and made Oath that he was present and saw John Abbot sign seal publish, and release as his last will and Testament this written Testament of writing. that he was to the best of this deponents belief in His proper Exercise of his Reason at the time of Signing the same and that sd William Gassaway and John Maddox and? in presence of the Testator and of each other subscribe thir names as witnesses together with this deponent
