"State of South Carolina Fairfield District
Know all men by these presents that I Patrick Norris of the above mentioned State and District planter M??? For and in consideration of the Sum of fifteen Dollars to me paid by Samuel Duke of the Same State and District planter the receipt whereof is hereby acknowedged have granted bargained and Sold unto and by these presents do bargain and sell unto the Said Samuel Duke a certain tract or parcel of land Containing twenty Acres more or less Situate in Said District on round top branch the Waters of twenty five Mile Creek being the Waters of the Wateree River the same twenty acres more or less being an extract of one hundred acres of land Originally granted unto Samuel Nipper in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred & Seventy Four the Said twenty acres as above said bounded W on Samuel Dukes Land and all this ??? Lying on the Lower and E side of a branch of roundtop that runs through the tract of Norris sd land and bounded in by the said branch and to the said Dukes Land together with all and singular the rights members hereditaments thereunto belonging or in any wise incident or appurtaining To have and to hold the aforesaid twenty acres of Land more or less unto the Said Samuel Duke his heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby bind myself my heirs and from all othe persons lawfullyl claiming or to Claim the Same or any part thereof as Witness my hand and Seal this Second day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Six and in the thirtieth year of the sovereignty and Independence of the United States of America (signed) Patrict Norris (seal)

Alex'dr Crumpton one of the Justices assigned to keep the the peace in Said district personally appeared George Watts and after being duly sworn on the holy Evangelist Says that he was personally present with Charles McDaniel the other Subscribing Witness and Says that both did See the within named Patrick Norris Sign Seal and Release this deed of Conveyance unto the within named Samuel Duke For his act and deed? For the purpose within Mentioned
