Lancaster District, SC Deed Book D, pages 117

"(July 1798) State of South Carolina,
Know all men by these presents that I Micajah Hughes of Lancaster county in the State aforesaid in the consideration of the sum of two hundred pounds Sterling money to me paid by Jeremiah Burge of Fairfield County in the State aforesaid have granted bargained & Sold and released unto the Said Jeremiah Burge all that Plantation or tract of land containing one hundred fifty acres more or less Situated laying and being on the North Side of the Wateree River butting and bounding to the So westward on the said River and on all other sides on lands not laid out and has such Shapes forms and marks as appears by the above plat on the twelth day of September one thousand seven hundred and fifty Together with all & Singular the rights members hereditaments and appurtenances to the Said premises belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining. To have and to hold all and Singular the premises before mentioned unto the said Jeremiah Burge his heirs and assigns forever -- And I do hereby bind myself my heirs executors & Administrators to Warrant and for ever defend the Said Plantation or tract of land containing one hundred and fifty acres more or less and all and Singular the premises unto the Said Jeremiah Burge his heirs and assigns against myself and my heirs, and against every person Whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof

Witness my hand this fourteenth day of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety-seven and twenty second year of the United States of America
