SC Charleston Deeds Volume 3E pages 1-6, Conveyance, William Harrison to John Duke
Lease and Release Deed by Indenture dated September 23, 1753 between William Harrison, carpenter, of Craven county, SC and John Duke, carpenter, of the same. Down payment was 15 shillings with 60 pounds due in a year minus one day. If in default, a rent of one peppercorn would be due. Deed was for a tract of land containing 150 acres in Craven County on the North side of the Wateree River butting and bounding on the Southeastward on the Wateree River and on vacant land on all other sides. The land was granted to William Harrison March 6, 1749. Signed; Wm Harrison. Witnesses were Richard Kirkland, Robert Humphres Kirkland. Recorded September 9, 1765

The Indenture was recorded September 9, 1765 by Bull Fennuks?

In the record, the Release follows the Indenture, same witnesses and signed by Wm and Ann (Her A Mark) Harrison. William Harrison's wife is mentioned, but not named in the Indenture. In the Release she is named Nancy; however, in the ending signature she used 'A' as her mark and Ann as her name.
