"An indenture was executed in Chester County on January 4, 1779 between Robert Duke and John Leonard, both of Chester County concerning 300 acres on the waters of the Fishing Creek, between it and the Catawba River adjoining Thomas Steel, Arthur Hukland, Jr.[sic] and Robert Landrun. "On February 22, 1790, John Leonard of Richmond County, Georgia made an indenture with Wm. McDonald of Chester County, South Carolina for 300 acres of land on Fishing Creek adjacent on Northeast by Thomas Steel and Arthur Hukland's [sic] land, Southeast by Benjamin Cook, Southwest by Robert Duke. Originally granted to Robert Duke on June 23, 1774. Ref: Deed Record, p. 525, Chester County, South Carolina."
