The State of South Carolina Lancaster District
Know all men by these presents that we Mary Bredin Joseph Reed and Jesse Vanwincle of the St.and District aforesaid planters for and in Consideration of the Sum of  Eight hundred Eighty-one Dollars and forty five Cents to us in hand paid by George Hayes of the State and District aforesaid planters have granted bargained and Sold and released and by these presents do grant Bargain, Sell, and release unto the sd George Hayes all that plantation or tract of land Containing  two hundred and Eighty-nine Acres lying and being in Lancaster District on both Sides of Cedar Creek and Rocky Creek on the North East side of Catabaw River and Such shapes forms and marks as a plat hereunto annexed made out by Adam Mc Willie Deceased on the Sixth Day of September 1808 referring to the original grants together with all and Singular the rights members hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining.  To have and to hold all and singular the primises before mentioned unto the said George Hayes his hairs and assigns forever.  And we do hereby find our Selves our hairs Executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and Singular the Said primises unto the said George Hayes his hairs and assigns against ourselves & our hairs and against every person Whomesoever Lawfully Claiming or to Claim the the Same or any part thereof In Witness thereof we have Set or hand and Seal this 14th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Eight and in the thirty third year of the Independence of the United States of America

State of South Carolina
At the desire of Mary Bredin Executrix of James Bredin Deceased I have admeasured and laid out unto George Hayes a tract of land Containing two hundred Eightynine Acres Situate in the fork of Cedar and Rocky Creeks and on Both Sides of Said Creeks In Lancaster District and is a part of two tracts of Land the one granted Robert Duke the 3rd day of June 1765 for 150 Acres and one granted James Bredin the 4th Day of Sept?? ???  for 250 Acres -- Bounded on the N. W. by Said George Hayses Land S. W. & South by Andrew Mc Elwains Land South & S. E. by Jesse Vanwinkles and Robt. Bells and N. E. by the Catawba Companys Land and North & N. E. by John Pendergrafts Land and hath Such Shape form & Marks and Boundarys as the above plat represents -- Certified by me this 6th Day of September 1808

Personally appeared Wm Curry Esq and maketh oath and sayth that he Saw Mary Bredin Joseph Bredin and Jesse Vanwinkle Sign Seal & deliver the within Deed to George Hayes Senr. for the Use and purposes within mentioned, and also saw George Hayes Sen'r and Mary Hays Sign together with himself as Witnesses and further sath Not.
