"A mem'l exhibited by Adam Duke, to be regis'd in the Aud'r office of a Plantation or Tract of 100 acres of Land Situate in Craven County on the So. side of Broad River bounding NE on Daniel Jno Johnston SE on Joseph Hogg & Peter Collings SW on Wm Isaac Horsey and John Mettiseur Survey certified the 25th April 1773. & Granted the 31st of August 1774 to the memorialist" (abbreviated phrase 'Quit Rent three shillings sterling, or four shillings proclamation money') "per hundred acres to Commence Two Year from the date In Witness Whereof he hath hereunto Set his hand 15th Feb'y 1775 Dld" (delivered?)
